The Alchemy Project

 Damon Moore’s father insists on a strict, all-male college too close to home, so Damon and his best friend Alex flee to Atlanta with only a few hundred dollars and the clothes on their backs. After Alex’s car is broken into, he and Damon embezzle enough money from the scrap metal yard where Damon works to avoid returning home in shame, but to balance the books, the formerly-honest Damon skims the checks of the most loathsome scrappers. Soon Damon and Alex are stealing a thousand dollars a day from the yard and, as the cash piles up, it’s only a matter of time before Damon goes to prison or Alex self-destructs.
